Climate activists from XR South East have blockaded Farnborough Airport in Hampshire, the UK’s largest private airport.
Campaigners have locked onto a stretch limousine, a steel tripod and fuel barrels, blocking all entrances to the airport.
XR say that private flights are 10 x more carbon intensive than commercial flights, and emit 50x more carbon than train travel.
Farnborough Airport currently have 30,000 flights per year, with permission to increase to 50,000.
Extinction Rebellion are calling on the Government to ban private flights.
