Meet 20 Year Old Activist Melati Wijsen Who Had Single-Use Plastic Banned in Bali

Activist Melati Wijsen was 12 years old when she and her sister Isabel founded the Bye Bye Plastic Bags movement in Bali.

The campaign eventually led, in 2019, to the banning of single use plastics in Bali.

Since then Melati has gained global recognition and become a leading influencer among young climate and environmental activists.

Melati is now using her influence and fast growing online following to tackle larger environmental issues and to educate aspiring changemakers. Her new project, Youthtopia, aims to teach a new generation how to become activists in their fields.
