Wildfires in California threaten world’s biggest tree

Wildfires are continuing to burn across California.

The Colony fire, one of two burning in Sequoia National Park, is threatening the Giant Forest, home of the world’s largest trees including the colossal General Sherman tree.

To help save the trees firefighters have wrapped the base of a number of the giant sequoias including the world’s largest tree General Sherman, in fire-resistant blankets.
