Founder Ru Hartwell welcomes the pubic to the opening of the new Climate Shop in Aberystwyth on 18 September 2021.
The World’s first Climate Change Department store, as it is termed, accepts donations of unwanted household items, clothes, books etc and sells them on to raise money to plant trees in Kenya.
Items in the Climate Shop are priced in ‘Trees’, with five trees planted for every £1 spent.
The store was opened by Aberystwyth Mayor Cllr Alun Williams.
The first Climate Shop in Lampeter has already raised enough money to plant 125,000 trees since it is opened in April 2021.
