Energise Barnsley, the UK’s largest community energy project, has launched a £1.75m bond to help tackle climate change.
Funds raised through the bond offer will be used to tackle fuel poverty and climate change through rooftop solar on residential homes and community buildings, including schools, sports centres and sheltered housing across Barnsley.
There are currently 9,000 households suffering fuel poverty in Barnsley.
The project is supported by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
The bonds are Unsecured Five Year Bonds with a 4% forecast return.
The bonds are being offered directly from Energise Barnsley or on the Ethex ethical investment platform.
