Nestle brings Vrimps & vEGGies to plant-based market

Global food giant Nestlé has launched two new plant based ‘vegan alternative’ foods.

Vrimps are vegan alternatives for shrimps, and Garden Gourmet vEGGie is a plant based egg replacement.

The vEGGie egg substitute containing soya protein and omega-3 fatty acids can be scrambled, used as a sandwich filling or even used in a pancake mix.

Nestle’s Chief Technology Officer Stefan Palzer says the products fit in with the company’s strategy of “Good for you, good for the planet”.

The company introduced its first plant based burgers in 2019, and hopes to cash in further on the fast growing plant based food sector with these new products.
